XL’s Featured Tribe Men Of The Week TaJuan Campbell
1. What are your biggest fashion obstacles?
My biggest fashion obstacle is finding the right outfit. I’m limited to a lot of what I want to because of my size. I can never walk into a store and get a complete outfit, I literally have to go to 5 different stores and maybe two different malls. It’s sad lol
2. Where are you from and what are biggest fashion trends in your city?
I’m originally from Detroit, MI but live in Atlanta, GA now, so the one thing I love is the eclectic styles and trends. You see so many different tends but people put their little twist on it that makes it their own. Lately I’ve seen more casual trends going on here, more formal shoe wear like a nice loafer, and casual Chelsea boot. They’re going for the more tailored fitted clean look.
3. Tell us about your biggest fashion nightmare and if it came true do explain. (attach a picture if you can)
Lol the infamous pants ripping, I’m sure it has happened to all of us. I was at a Thursday morning assembly (which was mandatory at my college) and as soon as I sat down my pants ripped. Now I had to sit through this hour-long assembly with a big hole in the middle of my pants lol. Luckily I one noticed.
4. What are some of your biggest style inspirations?
Instagram lol I actually have an album in my photos called clothing inspirations. I just randomly scroll through IG and if I see something I screenshot it and put my own little twist on it to make it my own.
5.Where do you see yourself in five years and how do you see yourself accomplishing it?
In five years I see myself teaching, I love kids and love helping. It has always been something I wanted to do, I want to be able make a difference in their lives and also encourage them and help them realize their potential. I’m currently looking into some online classes so I can accomplish this dream.
6.What do you feel is missing in fashion for the men of size?
Variety, we are so limited when it comes to us wanting to express our style and individuality. We all suppose to fit in this one box called big and tall and that’s just not it. ASOS have caught on but I feel if H&M, Forever 21 and other companies were to take their approach and expand in their sizes and accommodate to us, they will make a killing lol
7.If you could swap styles with one celebrity who would it be and why?
Drake, I love simplicity and I feel that’s what he gives, it’s simple, easy and fun even in his formal wear.
