XL’s Featured Tribe’s Men Of The Week Jevon Stukes
1. What are some of your biggest fashion obstacles?
One of the biggest obstacles for me is trying to Find what I want in my size. Sometimes it is a hassle trying to find last-minute outfits or special occasion outfits because I can’t just go to H&M or Forever 21 and get a whole outfit. It takes a little more effort from me so i have to prepare ahead of time.
2. Where are you from and how you describe your style?
I am from Augusta, Georgia and I would describe my style as classic with a lil surprise every now and then. I love the classic well-dressed look but I also never want to look boring. Usually, I would take more risk with my street wear rather than dapper.
3. Tell us about your biggest fashion nightmare and if it came true do explain. (attach a picture if you can)
My biggest fashion nightmare is being in church and my suit ripping. Sad to say this came true. I was in church ON THE FRONT ROW. I had a good well fitted suit on. I stood up and sat down a few times the last time I sat down some fabric from the side of my pants leg got caught on the bench and from my knee to the middle of my thigh was showing. I sat down so quick and flagged my mom down (who always has safety pins) from across the church and made my way to her and got the pins and went to my car and pinned my pants back together from the inside. I couldn’t believe that happened to me.
4. What are your 2019 goals?
My 2019 goal is to make my dreams a reality and be greater than the year before because as my pastor would say it’s a sin be great when God has called you to greater.
5. Where do you see yourself in five years and how do you see yourself accomplishing it?
In 5 years I see my self with my Bachelors Degree in Business Management and a successful entrepreneur. Maybe I will be relocated out of Augusta planning if not already running my own suit shop. Most importantly I see myself happy and living an amazing life.
6. How long have you been on the journey of being a Big & Tall man? What’s the biggest misconception you hear about Big & Tall Guys?
I have always been a bigger guy my whole life. It never gave me any problems like it may have for others thank God. One of the biggest misconceptions about big men is that big man are sloppy and have no style. I don’t think that is the case . I just believe that some guys don’t want to put in the effort to look nice or dress well so they settle for what they call “Comfortable” but I am a firm believer that if you look good you feel good.
7.If you could swap styles with one celebrity who would it be and why?
If I could swap styles with any celebrity it would definitely be Steve Harvey. Steve Harvey can do no wrong in my eyes. I choose him because he is so classic. Even his out of the box looks are so tastefully done and well executed. Everything he puts on is so well tailored and relevant. I honestly just want his whole closet.
