If you’re like me and you’re Struggling To Find What Ignites Your Passion? Then I’ve got just the thing.
An obstacle that gets in the way of your journey is just the background noise. Drown it out in order to hear your own personal GPS that’s guiding your own destiny. (ex Remember those math problems in school Johnny had 5 apples Jill has 6 apples how many apples do they have ) Those were just extra details to get you off track.

It’s important to find something that lights your passion every single day. Listen one thing I understand is we got to make money as adults no one‘s going to take care of us. So we need to take care of ourselves the best way we know-how. With that being said if your passion is to be a rapper taking a job at a call center is probably not the best way to light your passion every day.
Do things that are more in line around or adjacent to your passion for example if I wanted to be a rapper. I’d probably get a job at a studio or I get a job at you know your local music store. Or I’d get a job at a venue that puts on concerts. Being in the place where your dreams can continue to be ignited every day is important to your end reason of living your dreams.
As you grow up the one thing the world always tells you is how being a creative ain’t gonna pay the bills. People’s favorite line is that don’t make you no money go out and get a real job or they hit you with the even more condescending so if you wanna be lazy just say that.
Don’t even get me started on how your own family will work their hardest to kill your own passions because that can be even more weight added onto you when all you’re trying to do is live out your wildest dreams. In a lot of examples, I find that it’s because they can’t imagine your dreams for their own life. That’s just it this dream and vision was given to you not them.
If you come from a family of people of color this can be even more heightened. There are so many things in this country that continue to perpetuate the idea that we are second-class citizens. So, our parents grow up with this idea that if we go to school work really hard to get a “good job” it will provide some sort of security newsflash.
Nobody’s job is secure if Corona didn’t teach us that if the housing crisis of 2008-2009 didn’t do it then I guess nothing ever will. No job has really ever been secure you can wake up tomorrow and lose your job. Think of all the workers who lose their job in Detriot when all the factories closed down.
Listen Struggling To Find What Ignites Your Passion isn’t a bad thing it just means that you know what you doing now ain’t it and your want more.
