Congratulations are in order for DXL 2021 Big Model Winner Cameron of Dallas Texas. We scored an exclusive interview with Cameron discussing the details of his win, how he even got into modeling and much more.
- How did you find out you won the contest?
I found out I won via email and it was announced on my actual birthday, October 8th. It was the best birthday gift.
2. What was it like the first time on set with DXL?
DXL really made me feel like family. They were really chill, laid back, and accommodating. I’ve never been on a set where I felt so well taken care of. The team exemplified great professionalism and made sure I had everything I needed to kill the shoot. Overall, they were very friendly and very welcoming.
3. What’s next for you? What are your 2022 goals?
I will continue modeling for major brands that represent the Big & Tall Community such as DXL and JCPenney. My goal for 2022 is to branch off into other markets and get as much exposure as possible so that I can continue to influence plus-size men around the world.
4. What’s your go-to must-have fashion item?
My “go-to” fashion item is a nice tailored suit. You can never go wrong with a sophisticated clean look.
5. What motivated you to become a model?
My model and talent journey officially began when Wilhelmina and JCPenney partnered with Shaquille O’Neal during his Big & Tall Model search. A simple audition during the Summer of 2019 resulted in something more than I ever imagined. I was motivated to really show the world that big boys are and should be a major component of the fashion industry.
