XL Featured Tribesmen Of The Week Jerel Duren. We’re back off our hiatus. Look forward to our weekly post of XL Tribesmen.
- How did you cope with 2020?
In 2020 I started therapy and learned the value of stillness. The time was so valuable for me. I was able to examine my priorities and realign my focus. So excited for the things to come!
2. What’s one misconception about Big & Tall Men that you hear often ? And what are you doing to change it ?
One misconception is that Big and Tall men don’t take risks when it comes to style. We can tell by the options many Big & Tall retailers provide.
I’ve made it my mission to find options with bold colors and patterns. I want to make it look good so that hopefully other Big & Tall guys can find options to take those same risks.
3. If your favorite Big & Tall brand gave you a million dollars what would you do with it ?
If my favorite B&T brand gave me a mil, I would expand options. It would be my priority to make sure there are more on-trend and classic options for us.
4. What’s been your worst shopping experience ? And why ?
I can’t think of a singular instance that’s the worst but the fact that I haven’t been able to go into a store and buy jeans/pants or shoes in over 10 years is indeed THE WORST!
5. What’s on your fashion bucket list
The MET Gala. Miss Wintour will add me to the guest list one day.

What's Your Reaction?
Hola Mi Tribesmen I guess I’ll start by introducing myself. I’m Kirklan Hawes the Founder and creator of XLTribe.com. This site was birthed from an old idea I had to create a community of like-minded guys that was tired of being miss represented and wanted to be displayed in the truest form. Changing the way Big & Tall Men are perceived is the goal for XLTribe.com.
